Comfortably Numb by a ******* light year! Not even close. One of the most heartfelt guitar solos in the history of recorded music.

Toughest choice yet but Genesis just resides on sacred ground for me. I don't really like the rest of Wall. Gabriel-Hackett at their best were sheer genius.

Tough choice again.. Why does it always have to be so bloody hard...??:p

I love both these songs but I gotta say : as far as The Wall in general is concerned I just don't think much of it apart from Comfortably Numb, Hey You, and "Look Mummy - there's an aeroplane up in the sky" What's that song called anyway...??

Both of Gilmours solos on Comfortably Numb are Iconic and timeless classics, but then so is the original piano intro to Firth of Fifth on Selling England, which is then later repeated as a synth solo. And how about Hacketts big solo on the Seconds Out version..? and those drums with Phil and Chester playing together during the solos....also iconic, timeless and forever brilliant.....

It's a bloody tough choice, but if put on the spot I think I would have to go for Firth of Fifth (Seconds Out version) because even today, 40 years after the event it still brings a tear to the eye in a way that Comfortably Numb never did.

Firth Of Fifth is a clear highlight of Gabriel-era Genesis, but I can't vote against Comfortably Numb, which is pretty much perfect in my mind. The combination of many factors, including Waters' poetic lyrics, Gilmour's sublime guitar work and the contrast between their voices makes it one of my absolute favourite pieces by my favourite rock band.
