I detect sarcasm, for those who might have missed it, but yeah, Boy George classic rocker and legendary front...man (???).

I forgot about legendary frontman, George Michael and Wham!

Reminds me of that Bill Hicks bit where he talks about America turning into a giant diet coke drinking mall. And he talks about Jimi Hendrix coming back from the dead to saw Debbie Gibson in half with has cock. It's a great bit. He sings some debbie gibson and the crowd boos and he sings "standing next to a mountain, chop it down with the edge of my hand" and the crowd erupted.

So true.

Another quote I like was from Elton John who said today's music has no humanity to it. Everyone is auto-tuned to sound just like everyone else.

This is what happens when you have accountants running the music business. Its all about the bottom line. Then you have someone like Simon Cowell who cares nothing about the music only what's palatable to the masses so he can make a bunch of money. Ahmet Ertagen we need you now. (steps down from soapbox.)

I would define classic rock as most rock made between 65-76. After the era of early Elvis/Chuck Berry rock and roll and before the emergence of punk and new wave. Although some people just use classic rock to mean rock that is sufficiently old to be considered classic. So Nirvana and 90's Radiohead might be considered classic rock by some people now.

It's the same thing that is happening to the movie industry.
With the use of computer metrics they have found the perfect sweet spot of total blandness that will appeal to the widest segment across the entire globe. Not good, not even having enough content to be called bad. Just like that slop in the matrix that they ate in place of food.
A bland paste that has just barely enough nutrient value to sustain a heartbeat.
This is the future of all things.
They will subtract systematically as much as possible to get to where people go to their meaningless jobs and don't complain or cause difficulties.
No passion.
No excitement.
Just meaningless trivial crap to occupy people's minds.
And we will have Debbie Gibson to blame.
I knew there was something about her that I didn't trust.

Funny you should say that BikerDude because my son said to me yesterday that Hollywood is basically on the way out because they're playing safe with what they are producing these days that eventually they're just end up making and releasing "safe family movies" and nothing else.

Ugh, how utterly dreadful! Classic rock is an exclusive club old boy. How far have we fallen when the common riff raff like Men At Work and Howard Jones fall under the elite label of "Classic Rock"?! it' just not cricket.
