Not really much of a fan of Sammy's 70's solo work and this album is no different for me. Definitely voting for Travers here.

Interesting piece of trivia for this Travers album. It was actually the second album that future Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain played on for Pat.

^^^Yes, that is very interesting info Lynch! :grinthumb I really enjoy Nico's playing on those early PTB albums! There a lot of great songs, music and performances on both Makin' Magic and Putting It Straight, imo, including a couple of guest appearances of very well known and respected guitarists, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson, too!

Travers. Nicko played with the Streetwalkers in the early '70's. Formed by ex-Family members Roger Chapman and "Charlie" Whitney.

Love Sammy but while he was busy tryin' to find his niche after Montrose, Pat Travers was kickin' A** on his first 4 or 5 albums. But Sammy would overtake him around the beginning of the 80's.

Love Sammy, but PiS beats the hell out of MC.

For your knowledge Rainbow's Tony Carey played mini moog on Off Beat Ride.
Dedication is one of Travers best songs.
