Love both but my vote is for Montrose.

I almost voted Montrose but I got to thinking how Van Halen's debut hit the scene like nothing I had ever heard before. One of the most memorable debuts, ever.

I love that album too but I was listening to the Montrose album when I was In Jr. High. @Magic

@Vader. The first time I can remember hearing Montrose was as an adult......a much older adult. They just didn't get played around here......

At the time I would have said VH.
Now I say Montrose. Or Liberace for that matter.
I see VH as a very unfortunate fork in the road that led to a huge garbage dump of stinking refuge.
They spawned a sea of mediocrity.
Much like the Dreaded "Grunge" deluge.
Just one fellows opinion.
But hey. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

@BikerDude i have to agree with you, in a sense. But I like a lot of the 80's garbage for one reason......the sappy ballads.

I liked the grunge deluge.....AIC, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Jerry Cantrell, Sound Garden, Stone Temple Pilots. I can take or leave Nirvana cuz they are overhyped.

Montrose. Two amazing guitarplayers. Montrose had a better singer...
