I personally believe that no other band had the amazing musically intuned and progressive style as phenomenal as the great rush. Peart is widely considered the best all around drummer, geddy the best bassist (and keyboards), and alex....well alex is my hero, but definately under rated

Whats your take on RUSH?

Really like this band a lot. 2112 and Hemispheres are probably my favorites. Great musicianship here. Not very fond of Geddy Lee's voice. But, I like the music enough to overlook that screech. Besides, after years of listening to Rush it sort of would not sound right if someone else did the vocals I think. You know, one of those things where everything fits just so well together it wouldn't have the same impact if you changed one of those items.

Neal Peart is a very good drummer but not necessarily the best IMO. I do agree, Alex is generally underrated. He's every bit as good as those who always make the greatest guitarist list but you don't see him there much for some reason.

Oddly enough, Rush seems to be one of those rare bands where the drummer is the focal member - I mean actual drummer, not singer/drummers like Phil Collins and Don Henley.

You like the prog stuff, eh? I prefer some of the earlier stuff when it comes to guitar, but Peart's best stuff was definately 2112 and hemispheres lyrically. Lavela Strageato and YYZ are some of greatest hard rock instrumentals ever written, both of which id love to learn to play, but i cant quite say im good enough yet...My drummer/lyricist got me into them last year, and so we aspire to be like them.

Love these guys...recently bought "Hemispheres" -one of their most under-rated recordings-every tune is amazing especially "La Villa Strangiato"...the musicianship is brilliant...maybe I'm biased 'cause I too am a Canadian boy from Toronto...took my daughter to see them on the "Vapour Trails" tour and it blew her mind!

Just saw the R30 video, its only been out for like 8 hrs, but what can i say we are dedicated fans. Everything was simply jaw dropping perfect on musicianship. Solo's are crazier than ive ever heard (espeacially neils) and it comes with a second CD with a bunch of songs not included in the concert, which was held in Frankfurt Germany. ONe of the old songs was Lavilla Strageato, damn that was wicked to watch. THey should have a new album released in 2007 if everything goes as planned. Rock on!

A great band. One of the finest rock trios ever. Peart is certainly one of the best rock drummers ever, though I couldn't rate him #1.

Saw Rush live twice...the band is VERY original after they had gone through their 70's Zeppelin phase...In the 80's they created their own time signatures and original music; of course; Neil Peart was recorded VERY well so that helped with all the drumming nuances....all in all....A STELLAR band though I don't like some of the 90's songs...kind of limp and flaccid; but they have time to improve again.
