This is the first studio album recorded by Rikko Smjorden and Sinret Fjorddenson collectively known as Silver *****. Recorded in Stokholm from October 1967 to March 1968 just after the duo had returned from the hippie scene of San Fransisco, this album heralded in a new era for the band. Gone were traditional Nordic instruments and melodies in exchange for the electronic sounds of some of the earliest synths ever made. This self titled album sold more than 50,000 copies in the bands native Sweden ( a huge figure for those days and enough for the King of Sweden to proclaim the 1st anniversary of it's release as " Silver ***** Day" )and nearly double that world wide. Heralded by critics as one of the first and best psychodelic albums of all time, it was a heavy influence on such acts as Kraftwerk, Brian Eno and John Cage.
