Much as I like the 1970-76 albums, the dynamic on "H&H" and "Mob Rules" is just sensational. On both tours there was a very special magic in the air.
Both albums contain a couple of 'not quite there' tracks, I think. For me, I reckon that "Mob Rules" shades it slightly. Not quite as tightly produced as "H&H" and fractionally heavier.
I know that it's a controversial thing to say, especially as someone who grew up in the 70s with the Ozzy albums, but I reckon that they are my favourite Sabbath albums. Certainly the ones that I play the most. Then again, you might like to take that with a pinch of salt, because I love "Technical Ecstasy" as well!
