The Byrds, Fillmore West, San Fran Aug 13-16 1970,,, most talented live
version of The Byrds imho... Clarence White was an immensely gifted
stringman. This is the cherry picked complete run of 4 nights of shows.

Cool stuff from the band in the early years, 80-82 with the 2-tone, ska
jam going on. The Clash had just released Sandanista and all hell broke lose.

Great album. This album always takes me back to those times. Tyler, King, Little by little, etc...

Got a lot of this anthology stuff back in the 90's when it was dirt cheap
and remastered, a big thing in those days. When I dig thru stuff and
find these I feel lucky. This is a nice and worthy package.

Almost all of Mountain Climbing and Flowers of Evil are on here, and
that is what I will listen to. West Bruce and Laing coming up later.
Leslie West got some monster sound from his Flying V guitars.
Pete Townshend liked that tone too. So Leslie West was asked
to come to the studio and help the band with those monster
licks on Who's Next... pretty sure his stuff was used on the release.

Excellent band. Haven't dated that well imo, but still enjoy them now and then. West, Bruce and Laing also rock, especially Why Don'cha and the live album :)
