Easy enough. Two great shredders with classical influences...

Well, my favorite guitarist of all time is Randy Rhoads followed by a close David Gilmour, but Van Halen (the Roth era) remains one of my favorite bands.

Individually speaking, I'd have to go with Rhoads.

Randy Rhoads, because I think, that he was more talented songwriter, than Eddie. It's important to me.

I absolutely love Randy Rhoads. I consider him the the first true metal guitarist. A very talented, but technical guitarist, who never borrowed a riff or lick from anyone.

Eddie Van Halen, on the other hand, was a self taught genius. A tinkerer who loved a good gimmick to wow the crowd.

I'm not sure if you are asking for my favorite of the two or who is a better guitarist?

Why not both of these? :D

Though, I might have meant your favored guitarist. And I wholeheartedly agree!

In that case, my vote went to Randy.

These two guitarists had a great admiration for each other. Some say they were jealous of each other and at odds. I choose to believe it was a mutual respect and fascination with each other's style.

I read somewhere that both Eddie and Randy (back in the day) thought George Lynch was the BEST to come out of LA.
:dunno:
