Always a fan of White Stripes so I love this stuff!^^^^^^^^^ When I first heard White Stripes around the early 2000's or so I thought "Finally...possibly a new guitar Hero!!!"

It was pretty dry for a few years for a new sounding guitar hero back then. Seemed like in the 70's & 80's lead guitar players & solos were so popular. Magazines would have the top 5 or 10 guitarists of the year polls. If they did in the 90's I don't remember...I'm sure there may have been some heroes then but no one caught my eye until White & I wasn't completely sold but was pretty hopeful. By 2006 he was jamming with the Stones so I was happy

Shadow that is a cool one and given the back story on the origin and rights to that song makes all the more interesting. AND for me I have always had a hard time thinking it's a Blues sone, I always feel its more Phsyc.

@analoggal went with Robert Johnson - Sweet Home Chicago I'm sticking with Robert Johnson but bending the rules on the latter cover group as they are technically blues revival or really Hollywood.

Robert Johnson - Sweet Home Chicago

The Blue Brothers

but that version is :grinthumb

@Magic sorry if it's mucking up your thread definitely trying to stick to transformative.

Every Day I Have the Blues recorded for the first time in 1935 by his author Pinetop Sparks on piano and vocal and Henry Townsend on guitar:

A live blues-rock version was recorded in 1974 by the Marshall Tucker Band for the Where We All Belong album:
