Purson

A new charismatic, late 60s/early 70s retro rock band I've been getting into recently are Purson. Hailing from London and active since 2011, their sound is a heady concoction of psychedelic, folk and prog rock. Vocalist, Rosie Cunningham, lists The Beatles, T-Rex, Bowie, Slade, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Faces amongst her influences, and Purson's debut album 'The Circle and the Blue Door' is quite a diverse affair, ranging from dreamy numbers to darker and heavier tracks. Anyway enough of my yapping, give these guys a listen, if Ms Cunningham's enchanting voice and the equally bewitching lyrics don't draw you in I don't know what will :)

The Contract

Leaning on a Bear

Spiderwood Farm

Tempest and the Tide

The debut was great and judging by what I've heard so far, "Desire’s Magic Theatre" will be too. Will pick up a copy as soon as it hits the shelves at the local record store.

The artwork is awesome! Rosalie looks gorgeous, as always!

I'm completely addicted to the new album. As I've already said in this thread, the debut was great, but the new album is on a completely different level. I like the changes they've done, less doom and gothic undertones, more pop melodies and psychedelia. On top of that, the production is top notch and Rosalie's vocals are phenomenal, even more so than on the debut.

Can't wait to pick up a copy of the new album, it will have to go a long way to beat their debut in my books as there isn't a single track on that I don't like.
