Almost every rock fan knows about NWOBHM movement, but only a few people outside Latin America are aware of the fact that at the same time as NWOBHM emerged, first heavy metal bands appeared in Venezuela. The most important of them were Arkangel and Resistencia.
Legendary Arkangel was formed under the name Power Age in 1977 in Valencia. They released three classic heavy metal albums in the 80's: 'Arkangel' (1981), 'Rock National' (1982) and 'Represion Latinoamericana' (1983).
The band members were Paul Gillman, Giancarlo Picozzi, Freddy Marshall, Breno Diaz, Giorgio Picozzi
