R.I.P. David Bowie

RIP David

David Bowie was a big part of my heart and soul in my musical journey. Bowie was always part of my music obsession and I loved following him thru the years as he morphed from one style to another.

We drove into work this morning in tears listening to one classic Bowie song after another. I really thought I was going to get in an accident.

My brother waited all night at the Spectrum in 1978 for David Bowie tickets, 12th row tickets, and was so glad he took me to the show which was the first night of the Stage Album shows. A magical night!

Then while living in the Bronx in 2002, I saw Bowie for the last time (actually saw him one more time at a surprise guest) in the Bronx at Jimmy's Bronx Cafe part of the Bowie New York City Marathon tour. It was nice to see Bowie up close at a small venue after all those years. Bowie is the only artist I've ever scene at a club in the Bronx and I will keep it that way.

Like many of you, I was completely shocked when I heard that David Bowie had passed. I listened to his music all day yesterday, in the car, at work, at home, etc., as my own personal way of saying goodbye. Even though he departed this world far too soon, he left us with the wonderful gift of his music.
RIP David Bowie.

The Man Who Fell to Earth has returned from whence he came. His Sound and Vision will live forever. RIP David, and thank you.
