I've been listening to the under-rated Balance Of Power. Great 80's feel but still the unmistakble ELO-ness.

I also downloaded some alternate versions of tracks from the album. Heaven Only Knows and Sorrow About To Fall have alternate versions that are almost like 70's/disco era versions of themselves. SATF especially has a keyboard sound that approximates the strings of the pre-80's band.

ELO-Heaven Only Knows (alternate version)

ELO-Sorrow About To Fall (alternate version)

Has anyone checked out Jeff Lynne's new ELO album "Alone in the Universe"?

It's been on heavy rotation here the past days. I think that ELO fans will be more than pleased with it. I obviously am. :D

Infinitely better than all of the sub-standard post-OOTB stuff. Some good live shows as well, still with Richard Tandy well to the fore.

It's pretty good man, I love a lot of the songs, they take me back to 70's ELO, as you would expect it is produced to a high standard, would love to see him live but missed the day to buy them and it's expensive now, maybe next time. What a great return to form for a great musician.
