Ozzy has more than paid his dues. He came from dirt and if he wants to live a life of luxury, i say more power to him! He overcame a bleak upbringing, his excessive drug habits and can now relish his legacy of awesome music. I have never thought of him as a sell-out, including the reality show with his family. He is completely genuine, true to his natural Ozzy self and that's not common among rock stars or celebrities in general.

Sharon did well to advance Ozzy's career and i somewhat agree with remarks that she has over-stayed her welcome in the public eye. She is not as genuine as Ozzy, putting on phony airs in her daytime tv show. She seems to "speak her mind" as an affectation, not as something natural.

The thing that has always puzzled me is how Ozzy turned into a full blown song-writer after he was sacked from Sabbath. The bulk of the writing in Sabbath was done by Tony and Geezer, with Ozzy contributing odd lines here and there. In recent times the truth has started to unravel, with the likes of Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake and Jake E Lee saying they had actually written the songs and rarely received credits. It's also been said that virtually the whole of the musical content of 'Blizzard of Ozz' was written by Randy Rhoads. Basically what these guys have said (with the obvious exception of Randy) is that they were told if they were insisting on writing credits the tracks would be re-recorded with different musicians. I think we know where that kind of threat would have come from, and it's certainly not Ozzy. Remember, Sharon is the daughter of Don Arden, and she's as much of a sharp operator as he ever was.

^ He channels John Lennon really well in that song. Down To Earth was a great album.

I've got to say, although I've seen Ozzy solo, his albums do nothing for me. Give me the first 6 Sabbath albums over anything he's done since.

I don't know about that, @Jon. He's got a lot of great solo tracks. Over The Mountain, Crazy Train, Goodbye To Romance, Mama I'm Coming Home, Dreamer, No More Tears, and the list just keeps going on and on. He's putting out a new album and I really hope you'll at least give it a try.

Ozzy's best solo work was with Randy Rhoads. After Randy died, Ozzy kinda fell apart and it showed in the music a little bit.

Some good music came out after Randy, but I prefer the Sabbath stuff to most of his solo work too.

Completely agree with that. Saw him perform 'Blizzard of Ozz' with Randy and I thought he was going places. He did go places, but not the ones I was interested in. Also his vocal has changed, which I know is bound to happen, but his best work was early Sabbath, no doubt about it.

I'll agree with it too. The point I was trying to get across is that he has put out some really solid solo work. His work with Black Sabbath is king for sure.:bow::bow::bow:

If the new album is anything like the last few it will suck balls.
