Re: AC/DC Powerage (1978)

most people I know love this album and it's one of their faves. Great review.

Down Payment Blues has pipped What's Next To The Moon? for my favourite song of all time. Me and my brother do share this as our favourite album in general though which is pretty cool.

As we all know that AC/DC's "Back In Black" is one of the biggest rock albums of all time and most people consider "Highway To Hell" the peak of their Bon Scott era but to me "Powerage" is the AC/DC album that grabs you by the balls, gives ya a tight twist and won't let go!!

To say its their worst would come from the minds of pure idiots. If they dislike the album that's fine but to say its the worst is idiotic.

Back in Black was (is) a favorite, but the raw, gritty, down in the gutter energy on this album is amazing. When I listen to my vinyl copy, it is impossible to play at low volume. Great review RR.

I saw them in a small club in San Francisco in the late seventies. Kick ass show and in a small venue, wow. At this same place I also saw Blue Oyster Cult and Judas Priest. Powerage is a strong album, I personally like High Voltage a bit better.

We saw them on this tour at Sheffield Top Rank. The place was virtually empty. I can't remember a great deal about the gig.
Powerade is an outstanding album. I Prefer let there be Rock.
We saw them again on the if you want blood tour later in 78 at Sheffield Poly. The place was packed and oversold by a long way.
That night the band were on fire complete with strippers.
Bon was simply outstanding as he dominated.
The atmosphere was electric that night. I've never felt anything like it since at a gig.
Any ACDC post Bon Scott Simply isn't ACDC.
