Oh dear, sorry about that!! ... it's probably the only track from the first 6 Zep albums that I actually hate, and never play, I have NO idea what they were thinking about when they put it on the same record as epic stuff like Kashmir, Trampled Underfoot, In My Time of Dying etc....though even on their worst day, Zepp were still better than just about everybody else on their best day!

lol Don't be sorry. Your opinion is as valid about it as ours.
My least favourite on the album for me personally is Kashmir.

LZ II!

Lame cover, but an absolutely incredible album!

Speaking of album covers, I can honestly say that I don't really like ANY of their album covers. LZ1 was cool, 2-4 are all lame, Houses was goofy as hell. PG was ok, Presence was lame, ITTHD was a cool concept if you even know what that concept is. Coda is lame. The live albums are lame. The 1990 Box set cover was kind of cool. Overall, for a band that was as big and epic as they were, they really had some really lame album covers.

I’d agree with that, it’s always been baffling why so many bands - who spend millions and take months recording an album - they then seem to put so little thought into how they actually package it, and how they present it to the public. Maybe the era of the CD and MP3 downloads has signaled the death of great rock album cover art? I actually really liked the album cover of ‘Presence’ with its intriguing post-nuclear family all gathered around the obelisk, and which was designed by Hipgnosis, to me it was reminiscent of the great cover they also did for Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’. Hipgnosis produced some great album art, but none of the other Zeppelin covers amounted to very much, ‘In through the Out Door’ was okay, but ‘Physical Graffiti’ was just plain annoying with all those little windows which eventually just got frayed and torn after about 100 plays of the record. Roger Dean for me still reigns supreme as an album art designer, he’s never been equalled, as a spotty teenage Yes/Uriah Heep/Asia/Budgie fan ( just 4 of the bands he worked with) I even used to buy huge posters of the stuff Roger Dean did, and hang them on my bedroom wall, you could buy them in art shops and record stores back then, and I’d spend ages staring at them and just disappearing into Roger Dean's vast and extraordinary outer-space and fantasy/sci-fi dreamscapes, while simultaneously being plugged into listening to Yes’s ‘Tales from Topographic Oceans’ or Heep’s ‘Demons and Wizards’ or whatever, good stuff.

I actually consider Physical Graffiti to be one of the greatest albums ever made by anyone, it's virtually flawless, the only track I would question is 'Boogie With Stu', which I usually skip that track when I'm playing the album, and in which to me they sound like a pub band performing a sound-check, but not even a good pub band! - but 'Graffiti' still gets my vote, ahead of IV and III....though LZ were incapable of producing anything less than genius right up to 'In Through The Out Door', which for me has only one track I even ever listen to, the epic 'Carouselambra' - though I read that Bonham was permanently drunk, and Page was strung out on heroin addiction for the duration of that whole record, so that would maybe explain it.
Totally agree with the sentiments on Boogie with Stu - to an extent. I don't think it's the worst thing they've ever done or even the worst thing on that album but it doesn't belong alongside of giants like In The Light, Kashmir, The Wanton Song, etc etc etc.

As for In Through the Out Door, if I ever find a song on there that truly sounds like a real Zep tune I'll let you know. They completely fell off the wagon with that one and were spewing mud (which by their standards meant making alright but unremarkable songs). Sad to see.

ITTOD is one of my top 5 favourite LZ albums. I love every song on it.

IV for me.

Over the years, I, III & Physical Graffiti have been my favorites for brief periods. But for the most part IV has ruled.
