In a really terrific Moody Blues documentary,I heard that post-Denny Laine Moodies lead guitarist Justin Hayward actually auditioned for the New Animals and may have been referred to the Blues by ol' Eric Burdon himself.Burdon also spoke of parties he used attend at a place shared by the Moodies and the guest list would often include the Animals,Beatles,Stones, and,of all people,Mr. Tom Jones.I would love to have been a fly on the wall at these gatherings.I sure as hell would never have had an invite!

Just saw The Animals with Burdon last weekend. He blew me away honestly. They played all the hits and did a couple encores with Boom Boom Boom and It's My Life. They're touring now and I definitely recommend seeing them. Tickets are cheap too, around 40 dollars.

Can anyone name this performance?

I remember seeing a video of a live onstage performance ('60s) in which Eric gets so carried away that he literally falls onto his side onstage. Anyone know where that's from? Not from 1965 NME Readers' Choice Performance.

Thanks!

Indeed, the amalgam of War's islander wistfulness combines quite fluently with Burdon's West London vocal hutzpah....

I always liked "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone" . What album by The Raiders is the closest to that kind of rocking energy level. Anything more or less in that vein ? Any recs ?? Looking their rockinest release.

Oops wrong thread.

Same question for The Animals though. Which Animals album would you guys consider their most rockin '/ energetic ?
