I know the header is a little confusing, so let me clarify. We all have our favorite artist with alot of albums to them. No matter if you play them in CD, Vinyl, Mp3, Reel to reel, cassette and yes even 8-track.. yes I said 8-track.

Of the 353 artist I have, 84 of them I have MORE then 5 albums to them in my collection..

So the questions is, to what artist (and post the list, just the artist) do you have thats in your record collection of artist with more then 5 albums.

What dont count is:
Boxsets
Greatest hits
Bootlegs
Compilation

Heres mine:

I've unloaded many vinyl, cassettes and CDs over the years but I have plenty remaining in my collection, very much including digital files.

Some bands I love have barely released five albums, even including live albums. Also, many pre-'70s artists were about singles and their greatness is stored in best-of collections.

Al Green
Allman Brothers
Beatles
Black Sabbath
Brian Eno
Bruce Springsteen
Captain Beefheart
CCR
Clash
David Bowie
Doors
Dylan
Elvis Costello
Funkadelic/Parliament/George Clinton (they all go together)
Genesis (prog era only)
Grateful Dead
Janis Joplin/Big Brother
Jimi Hendrix
Johnny Cash
Joni Mitchell
Kinks
Led Zeppelin
Lou Reed
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Neil Young
Nirvana
Pixies
Prince
Ramones
REM
Replacements
Sonic Youth
Stevie Wonder
Stones
Stooges/Iggy
Talking Heads
Van Morrison
Velvet Underground

Top of my head I would bet the best represented artist in my collection would be Dave Brubeck. Pretty sure Zeppelin would be next and then Sabbath.

Heh, I likely have more Pavarotti albums than AC/DC. In fact, I know I do. And more Beethoven than Springsteen.

I catalog EVERYTHING.. (ok, except "block" songs, 4 - 5 songs from that artist, which might count as a EP, but its not an official release so they dont count at all and one hit wonders)..

But as far as complete albums (no matter what format they were and everything Im counting is now MP3s. I dont count CDs or cassettes or vinyl records, cause theyre now MP3s, so it would be a double count, CD and MP3s)..

And yeah, theres TONS of stuff that I could add to THIS list... unfortunately they only made 2 - 4 albums.. nothing you can do unless they made albums more in the future.. maybe, or maybe not. *shrug*

But what kind of sucks tho.. I have 1,424 albums, 19,993 MP3s and frankly Im about to run out of artist and albums to get.. I cant think of what else is out there TO get.. So the question is, whats left.?

Oh sure, I could just get the entire catalog of any artist say like the Rolling Stones, but just having the greatest hits is all I want.. and doing the whole catalog is sort of dumb and time consuming as well and worse off probably wont listen to them anyway, not everything in that catalog is going to be worth it as well.. What album IS in question, then Ill look at Allmusic.com for reviews to decide.
