Awesome... always loved that song. Up until now Joan Jetts version had been my favorite but this is killer. I had tried to get into VF a while back but couldn't get into theIr debut. I clearly started with the wrong release. Thanks to your post this has now been rectified.

I always thought Renaissance was their best album personally, but they are an acquired taste for most people.

If you delve deep enough into the 60's section of you favorite used records shop,you're more than a little likely to find many titles that have become obscure over the years(some by bands you may not have ever even heard of before)but blow away most current works I've heard that garner so much critical praise both this and the fact that so many 60's artists simply didn't get the recognition they deserved truly nauseates me.I've said it before,I'll say it here,and I just might say it again.Doesn't take much to be considered "outstanding" these days because the field is generally so weak.All hail the better known psych era reciordings as well as some of the obscure acts I've heard that didn't sell so well in their time,probably to a good extent due to the fact that some of it was so ahead of its time some pieces were either misunderstood or the world simply wasn't ready for them yet(Velvet Underground and LOVE are top tier examples here).So much drive,determination and INspiration went either under appreciated or nearly ignored altogether either because of the "misunderstood" paradigm,or merely just because it wasn't the latest from the Turtles,Mamas and Papas or Lovin' Spoonful,and,of course,our friends from the British Invasion.Also at the same time a lot of highly conceptualized and wonderful works were existing underscored in importance while the Monkees' NBC TV project wound up producing the biggest selling musical act on the planet in 1967.Were there really THAT MANY teenage female "crush on Davy Jones" types out there?Apparently so................
