Lately I've been listening to some newer metal...to me anyway.
First off...Solstafir. Great band from Iceland. I have no idea what the lyrics are but the music is the most beautiful stuff I've ever heard and that's what matters. Especially with their perfect videos. Otta was my 2014 album of the year.
Woods of Ypres - what a depressing band. The lyrics pretty much describe life at its lowest. The singer sings about impending death, depression, pretty much anything that will depress you. Fitting enough he went and tragically died in a car crash. It almost seems he had been predicting his death all along. There last two albums are damn near perfect though. Shame that they didn't get to make more albums.
