The Sensational Alex Harvey Band would be my choice
Yeah but they are not a Scottish band. They are an Australian formed band. Where members come from doesn't matter, its where the band formed and made its initial impact.
A Scottish band not been mentioned yet are MIDDLE OF THE ROAD .They had success with a few hits in the early 70s....probably remembered for their cheesy song "Chirpy chirpy Cheep Cheep " 
Take that away they were one of Scotlands hottest pop exports becoming huge stars across Europe for years.Singer Sally Carr was great !
