Re: Marianne Faithful

Going through some old magazines to try and find some new tracks (to me at least) and I came across an album review for Before The Poison from '05! I dug this song and it makes me believe just like in the case of Johnny Cash, the music just sounds better when the voice where's and you're a good enough songwriter to embrace the flaws and use them! This song has a lot of character to it! :grinthumb

Re: Marianne Faithful

Interesting that the label clearly shows a release date of 1969 which predates the track's appearance on "Sticky Fingers" by about two years. It also clearly shoes writing credits to Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and Keith Richards, while there was no mention of Marianne as a co-writer on "Sticky Fingers".

Re: Marianne Faithful

Maybe they bought out Marianne, Fox. That could be a good project to look into if there is anything on the net about that. :)

Edit: here is what Wikipedia has to say about the song: It was later popularized by the rock and roll band The Rolling Stones, who included it on their 1971 album release Sticky Fingers. It was originally credited to Jagger/Richards, but after a legal battle, Marianne Faithfull has been credited as co-writer.

Let's try 'As Tears Go By' one more time... both of the previous postings are indicated as "Private" when trying to play. The song is just too wonderful to not try one more time.:)

maybe the sexiest and most beautiful of them all ?

Bob Dylan had a massive crush on the babe ........

At the time she was being portrayed as this helpless convent girl who was being led astray by the 'evil and nasty' Rolling Stones. The truth was very different. For sure Jagger took at least one drug rap for her. She was, and is, very much her own woman.

Looking at Marianne's pic you notice she has very big lips....
It was inevitable that those lips would meet up with Micks supersized lips...

it was written in the stars !
