I have resently become more interested in checking out the harder rock bands of the 60s
that I may have missed. I'm aware of the more well known bands like Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, Blue Cheer, The Doors, Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin, and even Yesterdays Children. Can any of you 60s nuts help me and other Interested parties out with some recommendations plz? Thanks in advance fellow rockers.

With lovers, buggers, & thieves.
^ The Small Faces you will have to pick-and-choose, as they were all over the map, but Steve Marriott was pretty wild even back then.

I shall give this some more thought...

- Amboy Dukes
- Pretty Things
- not my cup of tea, but Vanilla Fudge
- 70's band with some late '60s songs: Spooky Tooth ("Better by you, better than me")
- Likewise: Grand Funk Railroad, Colosseum
- The Nazz (Todd Rundgren's band, not Alice Cooper's which is more garage-y)
- "Seven and seven is" by Love rocks pretty hard, even by today's standards
- Couple of Fleetwood Mac songs ("Oh well", "The green Manalishi")
- "You're my life" by The Gods sounds just like Cream
- The Nice have a couple of Hendrix-ish tunes

For an unusual treat and / or a laugh, find the album by Atilla from 1969. No guitars but pretty heavy organ (by Billy Joel) and drums - sadly not lot of memorable tunes

Love the two GFR albums from 69....have some Amboy Dukes from the 70s ..kick ass. Willl look into their 60s material but i was under the Impression it was more psychedelic then heavy.Spooky Tooth is one I haven't looked into but need to. Thanks for the remindernot really into Vanilla Fudge....seems to me they build up to a point where they SHOULD start rockIn out but always fade out at that point instead. So I under your disappointment there. Will into The Nazz as well...another one I've never heard. Thx:cheers2
