Thank you all for the warm welcome!

One question...

Do you now own the Elvis Christmas cd?

I do not own a single Elvis song on any format. I'm not a fan.

Neither is my wife, but on our honeymoon touring Tennessee and the surrounding states, my wife demanded that we visit Graceland while in Memphis. I wanted to spend the whole day on Beale Street, so of course we went to Graceland first. I'll say it is an interesting snapshot of 1977, but I'm still not a fan. I was going to buy a t-shirt that say "Elvis has left the building" but they didn't have my size.

I think they handed out the "King of Rock" title too soon, but I'm not from that generation so I would think that. I would at most call Elvis the King of Rockabilly, and I guess his oldies stuff is somewhat tolerable in small doses. My mom got rid of her vinyl collection long ago, but I did get her an Elvis compilation CD a few years ago, so maybe I'll check that out. I ought to be able to find one Elvis song I like - Then I can say I've got Elvis in my collection.

No way in hell I'll ever listen to that Christmas album again! I love Christmas, but I hate Christmas music. Maybe the Elvis Christmas record is why!

I was just curious. I know I have stuff I probably wouldn't own if it weren't for the fact that my folks played it a lot when I was a kid.
