Apocalyptic Love was okay I guess. I'd give it maybe a 6 on 10 or something. I think I prefer the first album from 2010 slightly. The thing is, I find that the magic is gone. Slash was arguably his best with the original gunners! Nothing on this album, to me, comes close to stuff like Estranged, November Rain and Don't Cry. It's not bad, just mediocre. Fun album cover though. ;)

I think Slash has been the most successful ex G 'n R member by a good margin.

If you mean monetary worth, then yes, Slash is technically the most successful, but I wouldn't say by a good margin, relatively speaking. Slash's net worth is about $32 million, while Izzy Stradlin is a few million behind at $28 million. Then Duff McKagan is back at $20 million, twice as far behind Izzy as Izzy is to Slash.

However by quality of music output, Izzy Stradlin is leaps and bounds ahead of all the other ex-Gunners and any post-Izzy incarnation of GN'R. If you are a fan of classic rock and GN'R, then I highly recommend checking out Izzy's solo discography. He has 11 albums, but they've been internet download-only since 2005. If you can get a hold of them, Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds (1992), 117° (1998) and River (2001) are the best.

Yes I meant going by the 'green scale' Dr. Love.

I am not a big G'n'R fan at all only have Appetite for Destruction and none of the albums the members have released on their own or with their new bands.

I don't know much about Izzy Stradlin but you almost make a compelling case to check him out......however I don't like DL's generally especially MP3's I prefer lossless if possible.

Izzy Stradlin is the Keith Richards of GN'R (no offense to Slash, Brian Jones or Ron Woods), but Izzy's solo material is way better than Richards' solo stuff.

All of Izzy's albums except his first are also available on iTunes in their .m4a format. The 3 albums I recommended above were all from his CD era so they can be found on Amazon, eBay and the like. YouTube has plenty of Izzy available for listening if you would like to preview before buying anything.

I will check him out on YT before doing anything else. As far as i-tunes goes.......I hate the concept, the company, the founder and pretty much everything to do with Apple period.:D

I can sympathize with that sentiment. But I must confess I love my iPod Classic that currently holds over 8000 songs yet still has over 90 GB of space available.

Yep, check out the YT link above and check out some Izzy songs. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Back to Slash, how is the self-titled 2010 album? I see there are collaborations with several artist I like.

I agree with you 100%.
The first album imho has .... much more soul and passion, is it possible?
We have the same opinions and musical tastes on many artists and albums. Especially on the 80's stuff (yes, i like the 80's, lots of good "pop/rock/new wavesoul/funk/stuff: and I was young and happy:D)
