Disagree on Rose Tattoo being dreadful, far from it.

I always though the J. Geils Band was a bit over hyped.Of course, being from the band's home area of greater Boston, maybe I just got tired of hearing about how great they were here.Just like the Kennedys.Man,before Ted Kennedy passed away did we EVER get tired of hearing about THEM.Of course, let's keep in my mind here that over rated is not necessarily synonymous with awful.Geils was a good tight band with some decent tunes, but I never believed they truly lived up to the hype."Centerfold",however was at least near shameful establishment sell out.IT spent six weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.It would...............

The most overrated band of the'70s surely has to be The Sex Pistols. They were basically a one album band, and it was never about music anyway.

I don't know, I hadn't listened to this album in a few years and bought a used copy in a record store this week. Despite all the naysayers, it's pretty freaking great . I just don't get why people who profess to love rock and roll don't like this record. It's pure rock and roll, loud, trashy and the songs have great hooks too. What's not to like?

I belive that the critical success of "Nevermind the Bullocks" was more because of the attitude behind it rather than the music itself,a sentiment I also hold for Nirvana's "Nevermind",which I feel is musically mediocre myself.......
