@Musikwala This is what strip lists are all about:

in the end, a goodly majority of the original list could've all been winners. i luvv seeing a lotta dan love around here. such a...a... rich band with a rich catalogue, yet they often get slighted.

The strip lists get people listening to the songs (if they bother listening to the songs that is) and participating again. The Steely Dan strip list got me listening to some old SD that I haven't listened to in years. In the Wishbone Ash strip list from last year, I discovered at least 20 new songs to add to my Grooveshark playlist.

Yes it can be frustrating when people cut your favorite songs, but it's not all about which song will win.

Somebody else is always gonna eliminate your fav song, so what is the point of continuing to participate in the game? :bonk:

You hafta hang around to see how it ends.

Sometimes (well, around here, most times), a band's most popular songs gets tossed early.

Reason being, we fanatics know the most popular is very rarely an artist's best. And even if it is one of their best, it's been played to death.

For instance, in a Ted Nugent strip, the first one I'd toss would be either Cat Scratch or Stranglehold.

Not bad songs, but I've had my fill, thank you.

Plus, you keep playing because there's always the chance for the big upset.

I'll tell you, I've seen a bunch of these strip threads get whittled down to a couple or 3 cuts that nobody outside this forum has ever heard.

And there is much gnashing of teeth getting it down to one.

But, at the end, while not everyone gets their favorite, I don't recall anyone ever being truly upset with a winning song.

It's always been more a case of "Yea, I can live with that."

Dats cuz we know wassup.:****:
