The only issue this album has is that some songs do sound too much like something you would hear from other bands.

I've been listening to the Hail to the King album quite a bit lately and I have to say that I REALLY like it. Definitely my favorite album by A.S. I like the power metal stuff, I like the ballads and everything in between. Yes, there is definite influence by other bands, maybe to the point some would call some of the licks a "rip off", I would prefer to call it 'homage'.

Currently listening to Acid Rain. Cool track, love the chorus.

I haven't listened to "Hail to the King" for a while, but I listened to it A LOT when it came out. I think homage is a fair description. For me "City Of Evil" is still the best A7X album. I was absolutely blown away by it when it came out - it felt like something totally new to me, despite some very clear influences. I consider that album one of my favourite metal albums of the 00s. That being said, "Hail to the King" is a close second when it comes to A7X faves.

I don't have their first 3 albums, but have heard tracks off of them. I only have the S/T 4th album, Nightmare and Hail to the King. One of these days, I'll pick up the first three. I do think that they are the best hard rock/metal band to come along in the last 15+ years. I like the music, I like most of the vocals, definitely like the drumming and guitar work the most.

Yeah they are a pretty good band. I'd actually like it if they did a covers album. I'd like to hear their takes on music that influenced them.

You have to check out "City Of Evil", Lynch! Of course I can't promise that it will have the same effect on you, since you have already listened to other albums by the band. After getting really into the band, I went out and bought their first two albums as well. Both are decent albums, with "Waking the Fallen" being the better of the two.

Having listened to Hail To The King album again I think the music is more simplistic compared to previous works but it actually works well considering the influences they took from on the album.

City of Evil turns 10 this year. Pretty good release actually.
Seize the Day I enjoy the acoustic guitar a lot on.
