What?? :omg: Those are hardly filler!! Eye Of The Beholder, which has a fantastic pounding intro is one of my fav songs on Justice and Escape is also very good on Lightning! The 80s albums did not have any filler, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong. I love both songs. Fact of the matter is they were written as filler songs, specifically Escape was, which is why it's hated by the band. The record company told them to write Escape basically to have another song/single to round out the album. So there is a difference between "filler" and songs that just aren't good. As the albums got longer, more "songs to round out the album" popped up. Some of them are good, some aren't.

As for Don't Tread On Me and Struggle. I wasn't a big fan of those two tracks till I heard them live in 2012.

These last few pages...:wa

The lack of Frayed Ends of Sanity is ridiculous.

It already made it onto one of the early shows.

Eye Of The Beholder. Definitely filler track.

Disagree wholeheartedly. It's not quite on the level of some of the epics on Justice, but I think it's a damn good song, personally. Also, to reference something you said later, I've seen Escape referenced by them as a filler song, & heard the same story about it's creation, but I've never heard the same for Eye.

Yeah... and My Friend In Misery and The God That Failed as well.

absolutely. Their first filler didnt come until the Black Album with "Don't Tread On Me" and "Struggle Within".

...Those are all my favorites. :uh:

Plus Never & Holier.

Love that show, it has one of James' best vocal performances in 20 years, particularly that Struggle, he ripped it up there.

Though, a better Tread performance happened later.

Yeah I can't decide if I like Prague or Warsaw DTOM more. Me saying EOTB isn't fact like Escape. That's just how I feel. Still love the track though.

I love everything on Black, wouldn't shorten it by a second. Sometimes filler is important because those are the tracks you get to explore after you've overplayed the best bits.

I take back my comments about The God That Failed. I had actually forgotten about that song. Just listened to it again. Yeah it's one of the good ones. :grinthumb

Love hearing the live version and hearing the crowd yell out Jason's "PLAY" right before the last verse.

New song "The Lords of Summer". I like a lot. It's more concise, less disjointed than a lot of the DM songs.

I like it, sounds a bit like something that could have been on "The Black Album". I just hope they don't **** up the album version, with yet another weak production.

James said that right now it's written just for the tour. They aren't sure if it'll be on the album or not.

As for the song it's pretty solid. It does suffer what many of their songs since St. Anger suffer from. Needs to be trimmed up a minute or too. But that's just nitpicking.
