^^ Yeah I think he had a good time. It shows in the performance, to my ears anyway. :grinthumb

^^^Mine too, MP! Ian Gillan with Black Sabbath was a cool combination, imo! Although I've read a few comments of Ian about his stint with BS not being that great, and his not liking the cover art for BA, and also some of the songs, too. With all of the said, they definitely rocked greatly in concert, imo!

Hell yeah...the versions of songs like War Pigs and all that with Ian singing and screaming are phenomenal! :cheers2

8. I'm of the opinion that the only non-great albums this band ever put out are the last 2.

Having just voted in the similar Saxon thread, the criteria needs a category between good and great. I voted great as this is better than good, but it isn't great by Sabbath and Gillan's standards. Zero the Hero is certainly a great track, while Trashed, Disturbing the Priest, Hot Line and Keep it Warm are not far behind. Gillan's blood-curdling scream and Iommi's hammering guitar work go perfectly together. This lineup should have persisted for at least one more album.

Admittedly, Stonehenge ranks with FX, as grandiose padding, and the production, even on the 2011 remaster, is horrible. Nevertheless, the Reading Festival version of Hot Line, available on disc 2 of the remaster, is heavier than the album track and shows what this band could have achieved given time.
