Trapped Under Ice would've been too scary for those fans! lol.

Not sure what to expect with the forthcoming album. Death Magnetic was pretty good and a heck of a lot better than St. Anger. But it hasn't really stood the test of time for me much. I hardly ever listen to stuff like My Apocalypse and Cyanide anymore.

Cyanide I agree also Suicide was an awful instrumental. Production on that album was piss poor too.

exactly! I'm just waiting for that 'New Song' !

So many fans want to hear 'Frayed Ends of Sanity' ! I think it's not a 5 star song but hell yeah! I want it too ! And another thing, I don't understand why people vote for 'Fuel' of Load/ReLoad era and not 'Until it Sleeps' or 'Unforgiven 2' ... . Man, Unforgiven 2 is just great but they played it 2 or 3 times I think !

Yeah it fell victim to the loudness war. Later, a couple of different "quieter" versions popped up on download sites. I downloaded the guitar hero version or whatever. Haven't listened to the original CD ever since.

Many off Load/Reload I would like to see played. Unforgiven II, Until It Sleeps, heck I dare em to play Mama Said just to get a reaction. lol
Songs like Better Than You, Where The Wild Things Are would be killer live.

Yeah, Death Magnetic was their first pure thrash metal album after Justice. I think if some other band would release an album like Death Magnetic, people would love that. But they are Metallica ! Some bands can't defeat themselves because of their own GREAT stuffs. Look at Metallica albums before 90s. 4 of the best metal albums ever !
Plus, I think Cliff's soul wrote 'Suicide & Redemption' ! A heavenly song !

Yeah Until it Sleeps is one of my favorite songs ever and Mama Said is Hetfield's favorite song !

Load and Reload together had enough good songs to make up one terrific CD! Here's my attempt at a single disc that I made several years back:

King Nothing is my absolute favorite song from these albums and I think it's just perfect as a kickass opener. Then I included Ain't My Bitch as a rocking companion piece. House Jack Built and Wild Things sound similar and I think belong together. Then comes the ballad about mother followed with the epic side A closer about what father's done. Unforgiven II is the best opener I could find for side B. I originally had Memory Remains and Devil's Dance together but decided to bring Bleeding Me in and vary the tempo a bit. This also avoids clumping 2 slow songs Bleeding Me and Low Man's Lyric towards the end. Outlaw Town was simply made to be a closer.. what a classic! Thoughts?
