I had that one in mind Sweat, they are an old band that lost the original frontman but have had a new lease of life with Andy helping out. I reckon it should be one still looked for in years to come.

I see what you are saying TS those albums and musicians were ground breaking and were active during the early stages of developing rock music, their influence just can't be denied. I kind of like to think though that the torch has been taken up and carried on.

Soot "Love" and indeed Arthur Lee are a fine example of what can happen. I must say I have to give you the floor with the bulk of what's going on today as you have a much wider knowledge and taste than myself. I think I see through slightly blinkered vision and only seem attracted to the heavier vibe/band for want of a better description. :grinthumb

Oh, and I think this one will be looked upon as a classic as well even more as time goes by:

I doubt the classic rock 30 years in the future would actually sound like the stuff 30 years ago today.... Instead it will be a bunch of half assed attempts of trying to sound like a good band...

Bottom line for me here is look,I don't have anything against the artists that are only aiming for the big hit single.A lot of lovely music has come from that approach. A whole lot. However,it is greatly important that the human race keeps alive its more legfitimate creative ventures.I wouldn't want to live in world with no semblance of it. Period.I like the Arthur Lee/LOVE reference.Indeed at least "Forever Changes" should always remain a revered piece of 60s pop culture.True art appreciation seems only to exist in the minds of insightfully deep individuals.unfortunately, there seems to be appalling decrease of such people in the world today...............

I truly think this album though already having some claim will be even more of a sleeper album to be appreciated for years to come. What it how it deals with it's themes lyrically as well as the atmosphere and intensity it drapes around them is amazing. It fits together and tells a story that draws you in emotionally and really invades your head space. :grinthumb

^^^ I think that one carries a bit of weight Soot, I've seen it on one or two lists of top recent year albums in various places.

I think some of the Stoner bands/albums may well be looked back on favourably in years to come. Queens Of The Stone Age maybe.

And one really good hard rock album I would especially like to see become a collectors choice in time is "At Her Majesty's Pleasure" Gentlemans Pistols.

^^^ Funny you should say that BE, I was at Donington (Download) festival a few years ago with my older brother and we noticed this old feller about 80ish; hands in pockets tapping his foot away to Dream Theatre. We nodded and agreed that would do for us at that age.
