So, I've kind of fallen for this girl that I've been hanging with nonstop for the past week or so. That said, she does have a boyfriend. Fortunately for me though, they have a 2+ hour distance between them, and a relationship that may or may not be struggling. PLEASE understand that I am NOT trying to break them up, but I want to make her a mix cd full of songs that tell her how I feel. I don't want it to be too blatantly obvious, but at the same time i want her to be able to see the common theme between songs.
This is what I've got so far:
1.) Maybe I'm Amazed- Paul McCartney
2.) Somebody To Love- Queen
3.) Woman- Peter & Gordon
4.) I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song- Jim Croce
5.) Free To Love You- Maury Muehleisen
6.) Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton
7.) For Your Love- The Yardbirds
8.) God Only Knows- The Beach Boys
9.) Oh My Love- John Lennon
10.) Time In A Bottle- Jim Croce
11.) You're My Best Friend- Queen
12.) When A Man Loves A Woman- Percy Sledge
13.) Let's Stay Together- Al Green
14.) Something- The Beatles
15.) Love of My Life- Queen
16.) And I Love Her- The Beatles
17.) Love The One You're With- Stephen Stills
(Ok, the last song seems a little desperate)

If anybody could help reaarange the order or suggest other songs i would really appreciate it.

You've known her for one week and want to surprise her with a mix CD full of love songs Rockyraccoon?? But at the same time you don't want to be too obvious.

At this point I'm going to have to smile...:heheh: If you give her those songs how on earth do you think she's going to miss the fact you're infatuated with her?

My advice, wait a couple weeks, let her know that if she ever was unattached you'd like to go out on a date. That is better than beating around the bush any day. Regardless she'd have to be deaf dumb and blind to miss that you're sweet on her.:gig

First off, was that "deaf dumb and blind" comment a reference to Tommy?
Secondly, I wasn't completely honest in my first post. I'm making this into a playlist on my ipod to play in the car next time we are together. When we are in the car, the music is usually low, but we both kind of listen when we talk. She knows I listen to classic rock and stuff, so I don't think she'd catch on at that point. I do plan on making this into a cd at some point, but I don't see that happening for at least a few months.

Not really a reference to Tommy, but how on earth do you expect to slide all those love songs past her whether it's on your i-pod in your car or a CD, doesn't matter.

Fact of the matter is she will Know you are on the hunt. You're the one who used the word "I fell in love after a week". I've never thought chasing someone's girlfriend was a wise choice anyway, even if you think they are breaking up.

I meant no offense, but your ploy is way too obvious.

Funny, the second I read your message, the opening line of "When a Man Loves A Woman" came on. "When a man loves a woman, can't keep his mind off nothing else"

Anyways, my wording in my first post was kind of...bad. I'd say i'm extremely smitten, not in love (because I don't know what love is). That said, I can't get her off my mind. Also, I think she might like me too, but I can't know for sure. I know this might be really stupid, but I have kind of been (somewhat) depressed lately and I need some light aside from music. Please don't view me as some stupid kid who doesn't know what he's doing (though that wouldn't be too far fetched). I...I just really need some good in my life.

I'm with LG on this. I like that you are trying to set a mood but few things send a girl running so fast as the hint of infatuation early on. I made this mistake myself a few times and it never went well.

Anyway, good luck. I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore. Trying to figure out what a single girl wants is like herding cats.

Say Rocky,If you play all those tunes for her while in the car it will backfire(not the car)& she's gonna think your a sap.
Just play the tunes ya naturally listen to,Maybe throw 1 or 2 in there but not the whole list.
Also act natual,Like normal,Probably why she like you in the first place.
Good Luck
