I finally got a chance to properly listen to King Animal and it is such a good album! The thing is I had downloaded it long back but I think the files were of inferior quality and when I burned it to CD to listen in the car, it didn't play properly. Anyway, long story short I've been listening to it over the last couple of days after re-downloading it recently. It is such a satisfying listen! Definitely a grower. After the first couple of listens, I was somewhat underwhelmed by tracks like opener Been Away Too Long and Non State Actor. But they have certainly grown on me now! I cannot get enough of... Non State Actor, Bones of Birds, Halfway There, By Crooked Steps, Taree, Blood On The Valley Floor, A Thousand Days Before, Rowing... pretty much the whole freaking album! The only song I still don't care much for is Attrition. Overall, excellent comeback!

Soundgarden was awesome with "Black Hole Sun" thats all I really know of them though.

If you're curious about them, you could pick up the album that song is from, 'Superunknown' from 1994. Good starting point.

Btw, I was listening to Blow Up The Outside World the other day. What a great song! I think it stands alongside their best songs ever.

And Burden In My Hand is pretty great too. Funnily enough, when I think about it... the lyrics here are perfectly apt for Oscar Pistorius murdering his girlfriend a year back.

Also, I want to ask other Soundgarden fans here. How good is that album Down On The Upside? I only know like 3 songs from it, the above 2 and Pretty Noose.

I am not very fan for the 90's sound, and I only have Superunknown, but I like it!, although for me is too long... With less songs it could be perfect!

And of course Chris Cornell is a fantastic vocalist, one of the best of the world!
But If i had to choose I prefer his work with Audioslave and specially, i love Temple of the Dog!

I haven't listened his last album, yet, but i will do it!!

So apparently Soundgarden are writing a new album. Keen as for it if true.
