Last night I heard The Butterfly Collector which I really liked. To me it sounds like early Pink Floyd (with Syd Barrett) meets Punk. :D

P.S. This thread was a nightmare to find, I was almost going to start a new one thinking that nobody had started anything, though I just thought a group like them wouldn't have been ignored up till now.

Great band, I would have loved them to reform however Weller said it would never happen, Bruce Foxton did play bass on a couple of Paul wellers tracks on his last LP

The Jam are cool...I'm not a huge fan like I am of the Ramones, Heartbreakers, Iggy, Forgotten Rebels...etc. but I like them. I love Down at the Tube Station, Absolute Beginners, In the City, & Modern World to name a few. Last year I picked up a cool DVD set of Tom Snyder & the Tomorrow Show. It's a special on Punk/New Wave with guests Iggy Pop, the Ramones, the Jam, Plasmatics, & Elvis Costello and it has interviews with Joan Jett & Paul Weller

The Jam?. Granted they had some catchy songs back in the day but the problem I've always had with The Jam is all there studio songs appeared to be of about 2-minutes & 30-seconds duration plus there studio songs all sounded to 'perfect' to listen to for my liking there was no edge to them?.
