I actually took my keyboard out and finally decided to learn how to start playing. I had a piano class in college but forgot nearly everything. This video from youtube shows how "The Scientist" is a great starter song. The actual melody is a different story. Now I'm severely slow when it comes to learning but I think this is a great beginners exercise.

Any other known youtube vids like this for people like me who are challenged when it comes to following these things. I've noticed something just doesn't click when I watch peoples fingers move. I just can't see clearly and I have to keep rewinding trying to make sense of it. Any advice?

Sorry Bry, I can't play a note, on any instrument.

But if I could get in a time machine and go back I would definitely have taken Piano lessons.(And I would also buy some Microsoft Stock when it was first offered...:heheh:)

So I know this is going to sound like a journal about progress, progress is a limited amount certainly, but it's so awesome to me personally to play the very intro to "My Immortal" by Evanescence and I've mastered the finger walking part of playing! Whoo hoo!

Apologize is such a fantastic song:

If you manage to master it, Bry, you will have to upload it :D

Ditto about the inability to learn from people's fingers, but i somehow managed to pick up the introduction to this Journey song. I learned the base part faster and most of my struggle came from coordinating both hands. Plus, the piano display above the finger work helped me see it better. Good Luck if you try it out.:banghead:
