Like I said there might be a part 2 coming. So before you all start naming someone not listed, just wait.

I was gonna vote for Dave Grohl & then perhaps Neil Peart in 2nd, yet I just had to go with Vinnie Paul. I just love that Double Bass Drumming & he seems like a pretty cool guy too. I'm pretty sure Neil Peart also plays a bit of Double Bass Drumming (perhaps even more Drums...lol), yet Vinnie Paul is the heaviest with it & is actually a true Metal Drummer which Neil Peart is not. I was gonna vote for all 3 of them, as they are the main "great" Drummers on this list, yet we only get 1 vote. Damn, Dave Grohl's perhaps my favorite on the list but I still felt like putting Vinnie Paul on top since I'm in the Metal Drumming state of mind right now.

I was just checking out the videos & wonder how dizzy Tommy Lee must get while spinning upside down. I mean, it's gotta do something, ya know? It just showed that Tommy Lee's both cool & innovative.

Back to Vinnie Paul. It was cool seeing him jam there again & (even considering the fact that I'm already a Drummer) I just started "Drumming right to the beat" while in my chair at the computer. Just a natural, heavy feeling.

A part 2...maybe?

There shouldn't be any 'maybe' about it.

This list is incomplete, and if it stands as the only list, then it's a bogus list.

Heck, even if you narrow it down to a single genre, there's no way anyone could ever come up with the 'best' drummer. Too many variables.

Bonzo free-styled, flowed, was surrounded by his kit. He was the heart beating in the middle, giving it life.

Peart approaches it like a math problem. Very slide-rule, everything neatly timed and cut to fit.

One isn't better. Just different.

I've seen a million of these polls, and one thing is certain: they should be your favorite drummer, or who's style you like best. Because we aren't ever gonna settle on who's best.
