I generally don't expect these sorts of releases to be on the same level as what these "comeback " artists achieved in their heydays, but I think it's great that they still have this brand of energy at their advanced ages.Particularly in this case.I mean,it's one thing for McCartney to still be doing "Yesterday" and "Eleanor Rigby",but I highly applaud his efforts on things like "Helter Skelter" as much I admire ANYONE willing to do heavy metal in their sixties.Keep one thing in mind. These people don't NEED TO IMPRESS ANYONE!They all have solid placements in the rock hall of fame and are doing these things becasue 1)their continuing sheer inspirations to express themselves in a sociably acceptable manner that entertains millions and 2)to let the fans know they haven't just thrown them overboard and show their gratitiude that thier fan bases for helping them become the legends that they are.

These kind of projects are the last gasp of the bands we grew up with, there will always be sentimental attachment involved when they release a new album. Hard to believe it was 40 years ago when I first listened to a Black Sabbath song.

Don't all bands say that all their new records are "mind blowing"? I've yet to read an interview with a guy who says "well, it's OK I suppose, but not as good as the stuff we did in the old days"

Still, been looking forward to it for a while, I'm avoiding any pre-release foreplay clips as I like to hear a new album end-to-end for the first time the day I get it, they did this with the last Springsteen album, and 90% of it was on YouTube a week ahead of it's official release, I'm surprised anybody bought the thing and they didn't just have all the tracks bookmarked in their browser.

That's exactly what I was thinking.:heheh:

@TS I agree I am waiting for the complete record before listening to it...I'm patient and can make it till June.:D

I actually think it's a genuinely exciting prospect hearing this, though using this Brad Wilk guy on drums, and not finding a way of getting Bill Ward to participate, takes the edge off the anticipation, and we're left not knowing what could have been.

Nice to see Ozzy excited but I'll wait until I can listen to the whole album a couple times before making any decisions about it's place in Sabbath's pantheon of recordings.

Ozzy could get excited pushing the correct button on his remote :heheh:

All kidding aside I have high hopes.
