I remember the title song from this release, one of my junior high school buddies was a Big Olivia Newton John fan, me not so much. But it's not a bad album all things considered, I don't own it myself though.
Thanks CP/M.
I remember the movie which I thought was quite good, but when I was a kid I thought it was about a bunch taking a old run down hall and turning it into a Concert Arena where you could go Roller skating! But the story is a little bit more involved than that. I don't think too many people like Xanadu the movie and I think it was the last movie for Gene Kelly! But I'm just one of these strange guys who enjoys Xanadu more than Grease! I think what was spoilt about the film was the "Suddenly" scene which Newton-John's had with one of the main guys in the film. Everyone knows though that Newton-John did "Suddenly" as a duet with Cliff Richard, so the scene in the film with a Substitute actor kind of makes the scene look cheap. But Newton-John probably mimed to her part in the song as well! Musical films were basically on their way out by the 1960s though and this might have been some kind of last attempt in bringing the musical films back, though the problem is a lot of the singing is probably dubbed - did they do that in the 1950s with movies like "Singin' in the Rain"? I certainally hope not! Though I know of such a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's 1956 Comedy flick "The Trouble With Harry", which in spite is cheating, it works well in the scene!
