Stage Struck is one of the greatest live cds/albums and it's hardly ever mentioned in those lists.
I agree with you in part Frank about the STAGESTRUCK album which has a good track selection but wot lets this album down for me is that it is to polished in it's production and it would have been better sounding if it had been left a bit more raw!.
The original vinyl album and early cds would always leave me 'breathless' by the end of the last number Shadow play with Rory's breathless ''We have Gerry McAvoy on bass and Ted McKenna on drums!. Thank you and see you again soon!'' words as the band resume playing shadow play to the fade out!.
On the re-issued/re-mastered cd in the late 1990s the bonus tracks of Bad Penny & Keychain slow the pace down alittle bit being included at the midway point in the set which personally i think is a good thing on the whole, it gives the listener time to catch there breath before the final headlong rush to the finishing line!.
