Queen received their first Grammy nominated in 1977 for inaugural Best Vocal Arrangement award for "Bohemian Rhapsody". Despite it being one of the most complicated vocal arrangements in popular music it lost to "Afternoon Delight" by The Starland Vocal Band.

Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was knocked out of the #1 spot on the charts by Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall".

Will Smith won two Grammys in 1998 and 1999. He beat the likes of critically acclaimed rappers Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Biggie Smalls, and Busta Rhymes. The songs he won with were "Men in Black" and "Gettin' Jiggy With It". Two songs that frequently appear on all time worsts lists.

Last year, The Darkness' "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" reached #1 on the iTunes store 10 years after it was originally released.

Starting with their 1994 single "Live Forever" until 2008's "I'm Outta Time" every Oasis single released in the UK was a top ten hit. This streak included 22 songs (8 of which reached #1) and last for 14 years.

Leonard Cohen is an ordained Buddist monk.

David Bowie's Eye
The Wacked out eye was a result from one of his highschool buddies that decked him.
The friend had the hots for this certian girl that Bowie had a eye on:heheh:&bowie knew it so he hit on her first.
(edit)Bowie had an operation on it&said that the punch tore the sphincter muscle in his eye,Kinna gives a new meaning to the term Sphincter Vision.

The reportedly escaped animal from the 'Thick as a Brick' LP cover (newspaper) is a non-rabbit.

Geddy Lee's real name is Gary Lee Weinrib. Gary got the nickname 'Geddy' as a result of his mother's heavily accented pronunciation of his given name.

Madamoiselle Nobbs and Seamus are the names of dogs that recorded with Pink Floyd.

In Siberian Khatru, on Yes's Close to the Edge, the word 'Khatru' means nothing. It was dreamt up by Jon Anderson.

Chris Squire is the only member of Yes to play on all of their albums.

Rocinante is the name of the author's spaceship which is headed for Cygnus, the black hole in Hemispheres and A Farewell to Kings. It is taken from Zeus's horse in ancient Greek mythology, Cervantes' Don Quixote's horse and John Steinbeck's motorhome.

The name Rocinante is derived from the Spanish word rocin, meaning wretched horse or packhorse, but also illiterate or rough man.

YYZ is the airport code for Toronto.

Oliver Wakeman was Yes's longest serving keyboard player.

Though with Dream Theater for nearly five years, Derek Sherinian only appears on one studio recording, 'Falling Into Infinity'.

Eric Patrick Clapton is Eric's real name. Wikipedia saids so.

Nah, it's Clapp ( I'll take the word of his bio over Wikipedia). Clapton's father was a Canadian stationed in England during WW II. He knocked up Clapton's mother and didn't stick around. Clapton was raised by his grandmother who Clapton thought was actually his mother.
