^^I can't say for sure if I've got one of those two versions or not Gorgon...been a while since I listened to DM.

I can say with some certainty that the vinyl re-issues of their albums right up to The Black Album are first class, better than any of the CD's released.

They did reissues on vinyl? Damn they really should do them for the CD versions too with the slight remixing to sound like they should.

It's a question for me that why many people think that Metallica's Load and ReLoad are weak albums ? I think these two albums were something like postern to them to run from a cliche and stop thrashing . I love Thrash stuffs but I think uniformity kills a band .

Load and Reload aren't as rubbish as purists make them out to be, they have songs I don't like but then again so does Master of Puppets.

The "Black Album" was released in 45 RPM format, and is hands down the best sounding Metallica recording ever released. It's still available in a box set and I have been tempted to pick it up. Their earlier albums have never gone "out of print", at least not to my knowledge so you can get them on vinyl too. They sound a lot better than any of the remastered CD's out there.

Agreed. I think some people just jump on the bandwagon too, think it's uncool to like those albums, just bleat off sheep-like how Metallica 'sold out'. I personally love Load and really like Reload, and I first became a fan of them in '88 after hearing Master of Puppets, so not like I discovered them after the sound change.

Minus a few exceptions, I think Load and reload are nothing more than sub par rock albums. If they were made by anyone other than Metallica, they would be considered mediocre at best. Which they are anyway. I thought AJFA sounded a bit odd, but I stuck with 'em. I thought Black was good, although different, but I stuck with 'em. When Load and Reload came out I realized that the Metallica I loved had died and wasn't coming back. Much later when I heard that they parted ways with the man-demon Bob Rock, my ears perked up. When I learned Rick Rubin was on board, so was I. When DM came out I was as giddy as a school boy after his first kiss. It's about the music folks. If I like a band, and they start producing shit, I won't support the shit just to line their pockets.

People who call Metallica sellouts really don't know shit. Calling any band a sellout for not making the music they want is quite pathetic. Load and Reload have some really great songs on them.

That is fair enough but at least you didn't jump on the dumb bandwagon of labelling them sell outs. A band is under no obligation to the fans what music they write.

I don't have a big problem with Load and Re load...I like them just fine.

Do I like the first 4 albums better? Yeah sure...but that doesn't mean Load and Re Load "suck" :grinthumb
