Vocals didn't bug me, I actually liked them personally.

Tyler's harmonies made it more palatable on a second listen; but without Tyler on lead vocal, it isn't Aerosmith imo.

There are songs on this album I want to like, but they never quite put it all together on any song; there is always some element that wrecks it -- usually the backing vocals. I think they need to let Tyler do ALL the singing.

This album will require many listens for me to find what's really decent.

Ah I thought you were originally referring to Tyler vocals, in that aspect I agree and is probably one of the few issues I had with the album.

I am close to picking up their new album, will be going for the deluxe version for the extra tracks and video content, it will take a lot to better Nine Lives IMO :)

I don't think it's better than "Nine Lives" but it is easily better than "Just Push Play". I'd also probably rank it above "Rock in a Hard Place", "Done With Mirrors", "Night In The Ruts" (despite their cover of "Remember" being one of my favorite Aerosmith songs), and even "Permanent Vacation".

Nine Lives will never be topped for me, closest is probably Night In The Ruts.

My Fave track on nine lives is, " Crash" and then, "The Farm", it is a modern album executed by a great band. I love, "Night In The Ruts" too, loved, "Remember" (Walking In The Sand) not bad for a kind of slower track. I think IMO Steve is one of the best frontmen around at the moment he can't half get a crowd in the palm of his hand:)

It's nice to hear someone talk about the "Nine Lives" collection because it is quietly a great cd. I love "A Taste Of India" "The Farm" & "Crash" ...they are my favs from this cd,and yes I love "Pink" . It is also great to have songs from the new cd written mostly by the band members like it used to be. My fav songs from "Music From Another Dimension" are "Oh Yeah" "Legendary Child" "Lover Alot" "Freedom Fighter" & "Something". This could change as times go by and I give it some more listens. A nice added bonus is the dvd of a couple songs live. This is a def buy for all fans & non-fans who just like good rock 'n' roll.
