Re: Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin [Debut] 1969

Nice review, this one is far from my favourite but still a decent album none the less.

Great review. I'd be interested to read a review of III being it is my favourite Zeppelin album and it gets dumped on quite a bit.

This album was a sudden and jarring shot of rock evolution that introduced musical sounds and techniques that been used again and again since its release.

An awesome LP! I wore it out, and then another, and then a cassette, and now have the CDs. The first 4 Zep albums are the best!

Great review of a great album.

Communication Breakdown and Dazed & Confused are my 2 favorites.

I just feel bad for the guy who basically wrote Dazed & Confused.

Anyone know if he ever get any royalties?

I believe there was an out of court settlement a couple of years ago.

Fine picks indeed, both are classic Led Zeppelin - Dazed & Confused is also one of my two favourites from the album although my other pick would be Good Times, Bad Times. I especially love its intro, the solo and the chorus, and I think it was a great choice for the opening track of their first album, in less than three minutes it showed what they were all about and it was a terrific way to introduce the world to the band.

Overall I think it's a excellent album, particularly for their first album. The only debut I've heard that matches it for quality (admittedly I've not heard that many) in my personal opinion is Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Pronounced...', both are uniformly strong with many great tracks.

Great album! I have both the vinyl and the CD, a solid album from start to finish. I would agree that it's one of the best debut albums out there. I played this album to death as a teen.
