In 1997 Macca gave us all a real treat with his MASTERPIECE 'Flaming Pie'. The title of the album was taken from an answer that John Lennon gave when asked how he came up with the name Beatles.

“It came in a vision - a man appeared on a FLAMING PIEand said unto them, 'From this day forward you are Beatles with an A.' Thank you Mister Man, they said, thanking him.”

Sadly this was Linda's last album with Paul as she had passed away from cancer in 1998.

The album had many great guest spots and production spots including Jeff Lynne and Sir George Martin who produced the epic Beautiful Night track!

Steve Miller co writes and performs with McCartney on Used To Be Bad as well as Paul's tune Young Boy! Ringo Starr jumps back in to help his pal out on Beautiful Night and co writes...yes the first ever McCartney/Starr song called Really Love You

Paul's son James, trades off guitar licks with Dad on the track Heaven On A Sunday! Some fantastic music from a fantastic album if you're looking to pick up a fantastic album by the fantastic Paul McCartney!!

After the "Tug Of War" collection Paul seemed to be making alot of "musak" as John once called Paul's music until the "Flaming Pie" collection. I really enjoy listening to this cd. It has variety and having his son play him was just a joy to hear as well as hearing good old Ringo on drums. After talking about this cd I'm going to give it a listen tonight in between listening to "Celebration Day" the new live cd/dvd Led Zeppelin has released.

keep those model subway trains running - watch the closing doors :wtf:

In 1999 MACCA came out with a wonderful collection of songs for his RUN DEVIL RUN CD!! A collection of covers and originals all within the standard rock and roll style of his years growin' up....but with a heavy bite to it I might add.

Playing drums for this album was Ian Paice, legendary drummer for Deep Purple...and a good solid choice too!!

Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour was another guitar player among the many fine musicians that helped make this album possible. The first project in fact since Linda's passing.

This album also set forth the Live At The Cavern Club DVD for the album along with many great appearances by the line up (band) from this killer disc!!!

He played here last weekend, two shows in the coliseum. Richard the owner of Free Cloud records told me the last hour of his set was to die for.

I must be in a coma I didn't even know Paul was touring up here.:bonk:

^^No MP as much as I would have enjoyed it the tickets were $300+ and I would have to wear earplugs to protect my bad ear so I passed. But it's nice he played here two nights in a row and blew everyone's door's off.:D

This was a once in a lifetime event, I very much doubt Paul will be back in this part of the world again.
