Re: The OFFICIAL Boston Thread

Love the first two albums, when I was 13, I was constantly playing the first album during the Moscow Olymics, great memories, great band. :grinthumb

Re: The OFFICIAL Boston Thread

Barry Goudreau's S/T solo album from 1980, which features vocals from Brad Delp and Fran Cosmo (who was lead vocalist in Orion The Hunter, another project Goudreau was in). This is a smokin' album:

This album sounds like a Boston album. Incidentally, this solo album got Goudreau fired from Boston, because he was stealing some momentum from Boston. I feel Goudreau was just bored and was tired of waiting for Boston to get their shit together for a 3rd album. There was a time lapse of 8 years between "Don't Look Back" and "Third Stage". IMHO, I dont think Boston ever did recover the momentum they had with the first 2 album releases.

^^^^ Good stuff!! :grinthumb

OK I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me here...but I'm sure some will hear it. There was a little bit of a Rasberries Influence to the Boston sound, NO??

Check out Go All The Way...the production, the singing from Carmen is very Brad and melodic sections let's say at around :47 :48 in....those sections are real stand outs.

I was listening to some Rasberries and thought...Hmmmm...I need to shafre this.

Boston is going back on tour again this summer.I have seen many bands with different lead singers but I don't know if I would go see Boston without Brad Delp.
I guess Tommy DeCarlo is doing all the lead vocals since Michael Sweet left and decided to focus more on Stryper

Agreed. I was lucky enough to see Boston 'way back when'.

Much the same way, I would go see Steve Perry without Journey, but I wouldn't see Journey without Steve Perry.

the Third Stage cd was 8 years after the second album and although a good album not good enough to keep Boston alive and active in the public's eye. You could have made 7 albums from each of the songs from the first album, that album is THAT good. When Boston tours these days I'm sure they sound great but unless they come out with an album as good as the first album they will just be an oldies band who still sound good.

keep those model subway trains running - watch the closing doors :grinthumb
