Boston then Van Halen and Foreigner. I picked these albums because I remember listening to them when they were released. There are other debut albums I like, such as Led Zeppelin, but I didn't hear them until years after their release.

Marquee Moon by Television is probably my very, very favorite. It was too good, too big, too beautiful...They couldn't best it, unfortunately.

Other contenders:
The Velvet Underground & Nico
Horses by Patti Smith
Songs of Leonard Cohen
Are You Experienced? by the Jimi Hendrix Experience
Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart

I'm going with this one for now:

Lynyrd Skynyrd - (Pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd) (1973)

Hard to pick one, but I'll take Van Halen's Debut.

I'd recommend those of you who have only listened to the CD or i-tunes copy of this record to get hold of a vinyl edition, the difference is staggering. I bought a brand new 180 gram pressing a few months ago and I will never play the CD again, it's not even close to the same quality.:nw:

I also agree about the vinyl. :cheers2

a couple others I love not posted yet:
