That is a lot of information Barry, thanks for posting the article for us. I didn't know that Alan Parsons produced the debut album, that explains a lot about why I like it so much.

I haven't played the other CD's enough to get a feel for them yet, I keep going back to the first one, it is growing on me more everytime I play it.:D

Oh man... "Life Beyond L.A." is an awesome song! I always liked "Holdin' on to Yesterday" as well as their other radio-friendly hits. I'll have to check out iTunes for the deeper album cuts.

Here's three good Ambrosia videos. First a history of the band and then two live prog songs. The last one with David Pack doing a great version of Life Beyond LA.

Wow, with four shows in and around the greater Los Angeles area I really have no excuse not to see them. :grinthumb

I liked the vid you posted of "Life Beyond L.A.", Barry. I can't remember the last time I actually heard a drummer clang a ride cymbal. You'd think today's drummers had never heard of one.

Ambrosia really rocked the house with their performance at CalProg. By ditching the soft pop and adding extended solos to their Prog Rock songs it made their sound much much more Powerful.

Yeah amazing that everything came together for this show. Dave Lewis had a stroke 3 1/2 week before and he wasn't supposed to play, but he ended up playing anyway and was awesome. Chris has had tendinitis or something in his right hand, so he was hurting too, but just powered through the show. Doug Jackson on guitar.
You know I've never really care too much for his playing, but I haven't seen him for over 2 years and he blew me away. I couldn't believe it was the same person. Shem was great and Burleigh and Joe were awesome. The sound was really good with Steve Lehman mixing. The guy Jim who puts on the show read the Jabberwocky. All in all a show for the ages.

Well you are in luck because a guy took some amazing photos with a $7000 Nikon camera and $2200 Lens.

Papa Jim has an internet radio show and here's part of the performance. It sounds pretty good but doesn't come close to what it sounded like being there.

RPWL the band from Germany did a fun take on what is Prog that's include in the radio broadcast.
Here's a song I really like that they did called Roses
