Re: Post a Picture of Anything Vol.2

Here's a picture of a rainbow I took after a thunderstorm about a week ago. I know it don't look like much because I took it with a cell phone camera, but this was the biggest, most vibrant and colorful rainbow I've ever seen in my life

And here's a picture of some morning glories that are growing on my back porch. Some people consider them weeds, but I think that they're too beautiful to kill. Besides, winter's going to claim their lives anyways

Re: Post a Picture of Anything Vol.2

It is not something I would ever forget (distance and respect would be foremost in my mind :)), but yes a lot of people naively do get too confident around dangerous animals at times, many of who'm either live to regret it or aren't around anymore to regret it, like Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend (as documented in the 2005 film Grizzly Man).

I have heard about Treadwell. He's pretty famous (for being dumb) up here in AK. The audio of the attack is pretty chilling from what I hear, though they've never released it to the public.

I agree, but I think I read somewhere that once an animal, bear, tiger, whatever, has fed on a human, it gets the taste for it and may seek out another.
It seems we are bloody delicious, and very 'moreish'. [according to Armin Meiwes].

Yes, I eventually read something along those lines too. Also, a lot of bears are now starting to associate hunters with a food source (dead carcasses) and campers who feed them with easy food. That's why the parks have such strict rules against it. Once they start associating us with food, they don't fear us anymore and will come around more often. The more often they come around, the more of a chance an unsuspecting camper will be frightened and irritate them into attack. The bears also have to be killed so it can't attack another and become a liability. Oh, and if you ever come into the path of a bear, you shouldn't run. It sets off their predatory instincts and not even Usain Bolt can outrun a bear. ;)

I read that the polar bear is one of the top 10 most deadly animals in the world.
